Colours and thicknesses for bespoke orders

For bespoke orders, we supply 23 solid RAL colours in six thicknesses. Anthracite RAL 7016 is the most popular colour for cladding, fascia boards and dormer windows, followed by black RAL 9005 and white RAL 9010. We supply wood-effect, metal-effect and stone-effect designs in standard sheet sizes only. If you are looking for a particular design, please take a look at our HPL sheets in standard sizes. A RAL colour may appear different on a matt HPL sheet than it does in a colour chart or on a screen. You can find out why in our blog post on HPL colours.

How much does a made-to-measure HPL sheet cost?

A made-to-measure HPL sheet costs between €23.00 and €72.00 per square metre, depending on the thickness and colour chosen. All prices are exclusive of VAT. We charge €45.00 per order for delivery, regardless of the number of sheets.

As you specify the dimensions yourself, you only pay for the square metres you need. The price appears in the configurator as soon as you have entered the colour, thickness and dimensions. For larger projects, we’d be happy to provide a quote.

What do you use made-to-measure HPL sheets for?

Custom-made HPL sheets are mainly used outdoors, as the material is weather- and UV-resistant, colourfast and low-maintenance. The most common applications include cladding, fascia boards, roof and gutter edges, dormer windows, privacy screens and canopies.

HPL cladding and façade panels

Facade cladding is the most common application for bespoke HPL. The panels are installed as a ventilated façade on a timber supporting structure, with a continuous ventilation gap of at least 20 mm behind the panel. A thickness of 6 mm is usually chosen for façade panels and cladding. As the panels are cut to size, they fit perfectly into the grid of your façade.

Fascia boards, roof edges and guttering edges

For fascia boards, roof edges and guttering, HPL is a low-maintenance alternative to timber, as the colour is embedded in the sheet and does not need to be touched up with paint. The sheets are impact-resistant and colourfast. Sections cut to size are tailored to the length of your roof edge, minimising the number of joints.

Dormer windows, privacy screens and canopies

HPL is suitable for dormer windows, privacy screens and canopies due to its favourable weight-to-stiffness ratio. A 6 mm-thick sheet weighs 8.4 kg per square metre, making it easy to handle at height. The solid surface absorbs hardly any moisture, ensuring that the sheet retains its shape.

Do you need custom-made Trespa?

Trespa is a brand name within the HPL product group and not a type of material. We supply HPL sheets from UniKern®, which is also a brand within this product group, and cut them to your specifications. You can read about the relationship between the brand and the material on the page about the Trespa brand. We would be happy to discuss with you which option best suits your project.

Properties of UniKern HPL sheets

UniKern® HPL sheets are solid compact sheets made from cellulose webs impregnated with thermosetting resins, which are pressed under high pressure and at high temperature to form a homogeneous sheet. The key specifications from the technical data sheet:

  • A minimum density of 1350 kg/m³ and a minimum flexural strength of 100 MPa
  • Weather and UV resistance: 4 to 5 on the grey scale after 3,000 hours of xenon testing, as tested by TNO
  • Increase in mass and thickness of less than 2% after two hours in water at 100 °C
  • Fire classification D-s2,d0 as standard and B-s1,d0 in the fire-retardant version
  • At least 70% FSC® MIX CREDIT-certified kraft paper, listed in the Biobased and Circular Construction Knowledge Base
  • EN 438-7 with CE marking

The surface is coated on both sides with an integrated, decorative and UV-resistant pigment layer. To guarantee the colour for ten years, a large part of the collection also features an extra UV-resistant top coat. For a number of special products with decorative designs, this finish differs. You can find the full technical table on our HPL sheets in stock.

Fitting and warranty for bespoke HPL

Like wood, HPL reacts to changes in temperature and relative humidity: the expansion is a maximum of 2.5 mm per metre. You should therefore leave a gap of 8 mm and use a drill hole of at least 8 mm, so that the sheet can expand and contract. Fix the sheet in place using 4.8 x 25 mm or 4.8 x 38 mm stainless steel Torx screws. The accompanying HPL accessories Please order it at the same time.

UniKern® HPL sheets are covered by a ten-year guarantee against colour fading and delamination. This guarantee applies to use within the Benelux and only if the sheets are installed in accordance with the storage and installation instructions in force at the time of delivery. Minor, uniform colour changes caused by weather conditions are excluded from the guarantee.
