Grass slabs

Grass pavers, also known as grass tiles, are a natural and practical solution for paving your driveway. If you’re looking for a semi-paved surface, nothing looks more natural than green grass. With a grass paver, you can create a green and sustainable surface for your garden path, driveway or car park. Grass pavers offer the necessary strength whilst being water-permeable. This makes the area look neater and ensures it remains accessible to all types of vehicles.
What are grass pavers?
These slabs, also known as grass pavers or PE plastic stabilisation slabs, are grid-shaped slabs used to stabilise grass or other surfaces. These slabs are often made of concrete or plastic and are used as a green alternative to traditional paving. Think of reinforcing driveways, garden paths, car parks or other surfaces that are subject to heavy loads. The main difference from traditional paving is that grass pavers have a natural look. The openings in the tiles can be filled with grass seed, creating a green and sturdy surface.

Artificial grass tiles
Most grass pavers are made of plastic. The tiles are made of green or grey plastic and are available in various sizes. As they are made of plastic, these grass pavers are very light, easy to lay and cheaper than concrete grass pavers. The plastic has a minimal surface area, which ensures a very dense turf. A plastic grass paver is particularly suitable for private use, such as a driveway or garden path.
Grass-paving slabs
Are you looking for a more robust type of grass paver? Grass concrete pavers are pavers made from concrete. They are perfect if you want to combine the natural look of grass with the stability of concrete. What’s more, grass concrete pavers last longer and the concrete finish provides an attractive colour contrast. These grass pavers are ideal for areas subject to heavy traffic, such as car parks, large driveways or road widening projects. Grass concrete pavers are also excellent for use on the driveway leading to your home.

Uses of grass pavers
Thanks to their sturdy construction, grass pavers are ideal for heavy-duty use, such as a grass-paved driveway or car park. The pavers distribute the weight of vehicles evenly, preventing the ground from subsiding or becoming muddy. The open grid ensures that rainwater drains into the ground quickly and easily, preventing puddles from forming. This makes grass pavers not only practical for driveways, but also a sustainable choice for garden paths or other lawns.
How do you lay grass pavers?
To install grass dales A well-prepared sub-base is required to prevent subsidence. This sub-base can consist of soil, gravel or rubble. Once a level and stable base layer is in place, the plastic paving slabs can be laid. Lightweight plastic grass pavers are easy to install yourself thanks to handy connecting hooks. Concrete variants are heavier and therefore less easy to lay. Once the pavers are in place, fill the gaps with soil and sow grass seed.
