What is HMPE?

HMPE is a high-molecular-weight polyethylene with long-chain molecules that ensure very low frictional resistance and excellent sliding properties. The material absorbs virtually no moisture and is resistant to many types of chemicals. Various grades are available, such as Type 500 and Type 1000, which differ in terms of wear resistance and load-bearing capacity.

  • Type 500 – suitable for general-purpose applications involving normal loads.
  • Type 1000 – offers greater wear resistance and is used for heavy-duty industrial applications.
