Differences between 16 mm polycarbonate multi-wall sheets in 3-wall and 7-wall versions

A 3-wall polycarbonate multi-wall sheet consists of three layers with two air chambers. This type is lightweight, offers good light transmission and is suitable for applications where insulation is less of a priority. Examples include lightweight canopies, screens or projects where maximum light transmission is required.

The 7-wall design consists of seven layers with six air chambers and offers significantly better thermal insulation and extra rigidity. This is ideal for energy-efficient conservatories, large roof spans, insulated skylights, greenhouses and glasshouses. The higher insulation value reduces heat loss, which is particularly beneficial during the colder months.

Installation of 16 mm polycarbonate multi-wall sheets

Correct installation significantly extends the service life of the panels. Always remove the protective film before installation to prevent damage. Use breathable tape on the underside of the panels to allow condensation to escape, and non-breathable tape on the top to keep out dirt and insects.

The panels are fitted into aluminium channel profiles, which ensure a watertight and stable finish. For even quicker installation, you can opt for the Klick® system, which allows you to secure the panels firmly in place without any visible screws.
