Technical Plastics

The engineering plastics group consists of plastics that have a wide range of applications in engineering but do not have the wear-resistant properties of the wear-resistant engineering plastics. PTFE, PVDF, PVC, HDPE, PP and Hard Paper are classified under engineering plastics. HDPE and PP are the real basic plastics with a low temperature range but, on the other hand, an excellent price. PVC, PTFE and PVDF offer considerable advantages over the basic plastics. These material types have a wider temperature range, higher chemical resistance and superior mechanical properties. Hard paper is the last in this group and, unlike the other five thermoplastics, is a thermoset. This gives the material specific properties such as excellent electrical insulation.
