What is a transparent GS acrylic tube?
A transparent GS acrylic tube is a moulded plastic tube made from PMMA. This material is also known as Plexiglas® or Perspex®. The tubes are optically clear, strong, lightweight and easy to work with, making them suitable for a wide range of technical and decorative applications.
Our transparent GS acrylic tubes are centrifugally cast. This ensures high clarity, good dimensional stability and a material with lower internal stress than standard extruded acrylic.

Properties of GS acrylic
Acrylic, also known as PMMA, is one of the best-known transparent plastics. The material is lightweight, rigid, clear and considerably stronger than glass. Acrylic tubes are easy to work with and are suitable for applications where optical clarity is important.

GS or XT acrylic tubing: what’s the difference?
There are two main types of acrylic tubing: cast acrylic (GS) and extruded acrylic (GS). Cast acrylic GS is optically clearer and has lower internal stress than extruded acrylic XT. This makes GS more suitable for high-quality applications, bonding and precision machining.
XT acrylic tubes are often a good choice for standard applications where dimensions and price are key considerations. GS acrylic tubes are primarily chosen when appearance, optical quality and technical reliability are of particular importance.

The transparent GS acrylic tubes are supplied as standard in lengths of 2 metres. Depending on the model, the pipes are available in various diameters and wall thicknesses.

Processing and customisation
Would you like a custom-made transparent acrylic tube? We can cut the tubes to size for you with precision. The tubes are sold in full lengths, but any offcuts will of course be included.
In addition, processes such as drilling or bonding are available on request. We are happy to discuss technical applications or larger quantities with you.
Suitable for outdoor use and UV-resistant
Acrylic is UV-stable and suitable for applications where the tube is exposed to light. Prolonged exposure to the elements may cause slight weathering over time. We would be happy to advise you on the right choice of material for specific outdoor applications.
