Transparent tube with the properties of polycarbonate
In the plastics industry, polycarbonate tubes are associated with virtually unbreakable, crystal-clear glazing. The version described here, however, is an industrial-grade product that possesses all the ‘well-known’ properties of polycarbonate, with the exception of high clarity. The brand name of the polycarbonate is Gevacril. Polycarbonate distinguishes itself from other plastics through its optical clarity combined with very high impact resistance.
Polycarbonate is an exceptionally strong material and is therefore ideal for use in the manufacture of tubes. This means you can be confident that the tubes will perform perfectly. Unlike plexiglass (which can crack), a polycarbonate tube is practically unbreakable. In fact, polycarbonate sheets are no less than 250 times stronger than plexiglass of the same thickness.
