Plastic mud plates – strong, durable and reusable

The plastic mudguards from Kunststof Forte BV are designed to create a stable, safe and firm surface on muddy or boggy ground.
They are ideal for paddocks, construction sites, event venues and temporary access roads.
Each sheet measures 50 cm x 50 cm x 5.3 cm and weighs around 9 kg.
The plates can be used in two ways: with the closed side facing upwards for a flat surface, or with the open grid side facing upwards for extra grip.

Practical load-bearing capacity and use

The specified load-bearing capacity applies to a well-compacted subgrade with sufficient bearing capacity (CBR ≥ 5%).
On a solid sand or gravel surface, the slabs can withstand the weight of people, horses, cars and light goods vehicles.
For heavier loads, such as forklift trucks or agricultural vehicles, a thicker foundation layer is recommended.
Thanks to their robust HDPE construction, the ground stabilisation plates retain their shape, even with repeated use or high point loads.

This ensures that the site remains stable, safe and easily accessible – even during prolonged rainfall or heavy use.
The sheets are easy to clean with a pressure washer and resistant to most chemicals and fertilisers, making them suitable for agricultural applications as well.

Installation and filling of mud panels

For optimum stability and durability, we recommend laying the slabs on a level, compacted surface.
When used in paddocks or stables, the open side can be placed facing upwards and filled with coarse sand or drainage sand.
This ensures natural drainage and prevents mud from forming.
Avoid fine play sand or sandy loam, as this reduces water permeability.
