These multi-wall sheets are an excellent alternative to glass and are widely
used in construction and screening projects.

8 mm polycarbonate multi-wall sheet: exceptionally strong

A polycarbonate sheet is also known as a tunnel sheet, multi-wall sheet or corrugated sheet. This is a flat,
transparent light panel consisting of at least two layers of plastic. The partitions between the layers connect the
plastic sheets on both the top and bottom. This provides exceptional stability.

You can find more information about plastic applications at
BouwTotaal and
Engineering Netherlands.

Strong and safe 8 mm plastic sheet

The material used in 8 mm polycarbonate sheets is resilient and can support considerable weight. Unlike
Whilst glass shatters and plexiglass cracks, double-walled polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable. This plastic is
250 times stronger than glass of the same thickness, and much lighter too. 8 mm polycarbonate is UV-resistant and available
in 4, 6, 8 and 10 mm.

Advantages of polycarbonate sheets

Burglary resistant

Fire retardant

Impact-resistant

Minimum thickness tolerance

Polycarbonate vs. Plexiglas

Polycarbonate and plexiglass are often confused with one another. Both are popular glass substitutes, but polycarbonate is
Extremely strong, almost unbreakable and UV-resistant. Plexiglas is stronger than glass, but less strong than polycarbonate.
8 mm polycarbonate is more scratch-resistant and heat-resistant, whereas plexiglass warps more easily at high temperatures.

Protective film on both sides

The 8 mm double-walled polycarbonate sheets are supplied with a protective film on both sides. On one side there is
Please specify which side offers UV protection. The 8 mm hollow-core slab is always double-walled; single-walled versions are not available.

Applications of 8 mm polycarbonate multi-wall sheet

Thanks to their exceptional impact resistance, these sheets are suitable for security applications, partition walls and glazing projects.
They are also widely used as a substitute for glass, for balcony glazing, and for garden canopies and conservatories. The 8 mm version is not
suitable for use as roofing sheets for canopies.

Colours: opal and clear

The 8 mm polycarbonate multi-wall sheet is available in clear and opal. Opal is suitable for privacy applications and is widely
Used for light boxes and light cubes. Clear sheets allow maximum light to pass through.

Machining options for 8 mm hollow core slabs

8 mm polycarbonate offers a wide range of processing options: milling, sawing, hot bending, cold bending, drilling, polishing,
sanding and printing. You can cut it to size yourself using a fine-toothed saw, but we can also do this for you.

Take a look at our other polycarbonate products, such as
6 mm polycarbonate multi-wall sheet, all hollow-core slabs, polycarbonate U-profiles and coupling profiles.

Fast delivery

If you order polycarbonate sheets from us, the delivery time is 2–5 working days, depending on the season.
